Named for an Emily Dickinson poem (local heroine for me!), this sweet boomerang-shaped shawl uses only 3 skeins of sock yarn and begins with a tiny 1 st cast on. Stitches are added to the right edge rapidly while decreases are made to the left edge—this creates the fun, asymmetrical shape that makes the zigzag slip-stitch pattern even more impressive. The colorwork stitch pattern is super easy, and you only ever work with one strand of yarn at a time (it only looks like you stranded!). The pattern is written out line for line (including the zigzag slip-stitch pattern), or you can follow charts for those who prefer them.

Included in your kit is the following:
(1) 2 skeins Nightshade Fingering in colourway of your choice and 1 skein undyed Superfine Fingering
(2) PDF pattern of Hope & Feathers Shawl sent by email for your Ravelry library

PLEASE NOTE FROM OUR SAMPLE KNITTER (you may or may not experience what she did but please end your shawl early if needed - due to her experience we included extra of the peach blossom so you can finish your zigzag section):
Tried knitting on US5 as pattern suggests, got gauge, and ran out of main color in Repeat 4 of the Zig Zag pattern. Ripped and restarted on US4. Even on US4, I ran out of both colors early. I added a second skein of the Peach Blossom to finish the Zig Zag section and the border, and finished only 6 ridges of the final half garter section in Natural.

Please allow us a week to ship your kit to you.
